These days, a credit card has become almost a necessity. The funny thing is how you lose some of the services you took for granted when you destroy your American Express card like I did. No, I wasn’t even able to hire a Hertz rental car, or buy tickets for a plane trip to Baltimore over the internet. The old days of cash as the preferred method of doing obtaining goods have gone.

We never stop to ask ourselves when using our American Express credit card globally whether or not we need or can afford what we are buying it has become so commonplace. You cannot escape though, as the price is high when using your American Express credit card and buy it now, pay tomorrow philosophy. The amount of money owed on credit cards is growing everywhere. It is not a lie when I say the credit card debts are the biggest worry facing the people in America.

It is for this reason I cancelled my American Express credit card. I was getting out of control with my spending because it was just so easy handing over the card. Charging everything to my card was stupid because before too long the debts just spiraled out of control. I was dealing with a debt that I could not possibly pay, and I was in a state of panic.

To get my debt back into a position where I could pay for it I resorted to using a debt refinancing company. It was like being in a living nightmare. There is a happy ending though because my debt is paid off and the American Express credit card has been destroyed. A lot of people would think that it is rash to blame it on my credit card, but I think that they do not understand something about human psychology.

Paying with cash makes you aware of how much things cost. The credit card just made it so easy; you don’t even look at the cost. I would spend money on everything, almost like a person possessed but before long, there wasn’t anything left. So remember, if you don’t have an American Express card, you don’t have any worries.
